The Plate

A copper plate (I use 18 gauge) is cleaned, mirror polished,

degreased with a 3% solution of sodium hydroxide in water,

and deoxidized with a solution of 10% acetic acid, 200gm of salt in 1 liter of water.

It is imperative that the plate be impeccably clean.
