Etching papers differ greatly in how they take ink, how absorbent
they are, the amount of sizing they contain and their surface texture.
They need enough strength to withstand great pressure and sufficient
delicacy to register the finest nuances. Etching papers need to
be soaked in water, in some cases for up to twenty-four hours, then
dried on surface just before printing.
